Janice Rae Cole joined the Office of Educational Innovation and Evaluation in 2009 as the Project Development Specialist. Janice collaborates
with faculty and project directors to write grant proposals including the evaluation plans, logic models, and other technical components of
the applications. She also works with the OEIE team to assist Kan-ed, Kansas Board of Regents, and other projects. Prior to joining OEIE, Janice
served as the Grant Writer for KCARE at K-State, helping faculty to secure significant grants for water quality, environmental programs, and
international initiatives. For several years Janice was a private consultant writing proposals for various agencies and NGOs.
Janice's career also includes 23 years working in Alaska. She served in the Governor's Office as Policy Analyst for health and human
services issues, providing analysis and recommendations to the Governor regarding legislative proposals, state department budget requests, and
state plans for health, human services, and criminal justice. Special projects involved documenting socio-economic and cultural impacts of
major development projects and working with a taskforce developing strategies for health care coverage for all Alaskans. Earlier, as Health Planner
for the State of Alaska, Janice helped write the Alaska State Health Plan and coordinated health system and health status research by the
regional Health Systems Agencies. Other experience involved: writing proposals for an Alaska Native health corporation, drafting policies and
procedures for the State of Alaska, and analyzing research on vital statistics, human services, and criminal justice.
